Flaky Pie Crust Recipes

Pie Crust with Lard or Crisco

1 lb. lard or Crisco (2 c.)
5 c. flour
3 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vinegar
1 egg

Beat egg in a one cup measuing cup, add vinegar. Add cold water until the cup is full. Cut lard or Crisco into the dry ingredients. Add liquids to the dry ingredients. Roll out on floured board. Makes 8 single crusts. May be frozen.

Pie Crust

3 c. flour
1 1/4 c. Crisco
5 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vinegar
salt
1 egg

Cut Crisco into flour; add salt. Add beaten egg, water, and vinegar. Mix until it forms a ball. Roll out on floured board. Makes 5 crusts. May be frozen and used as needed.
