Plett Plan for Swedish Pancakes
Plett Pan
Click to enlarge image(s)
The traditional Swedish home has a "plattpanna" which is a special frying pan used only for small, thin, Swedish pancakes. The pancakes are about 3 inches across. They are often served as a special treat for both children and adults. Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed their Swedish pancakes with fruit preserves, syrup, or powdered sugar. They're especially good with lingonberries and served for dessert in the traditional Scandinavian home.
Cast aluminum pan makes pancakes that are about 2 3/4" diameter each.

Swedish Pancakes for the Plett Pan

* 3 eggs
* 1 cup of milk
* 1 1/2 cups sifted flour
* 1 tbsp. sugar
* 1/2 tsp. salt
* 1 cup cream
* 2 tbs. melted butter (not margarine)
* Lingonberry or raspberry sauce or maple syrup
* Powdered sugar for topping

Mix dry ingredients. Stir in eggs and milk until smooth. Add oil or butter. Pre-heat the Plett Pan and season it well with butter or oil. Drop a small amount (maybe 1-2 tablespoons) into each depression in the pan. Fry on both sides until light brown. Serve immediately with your favorite sweet topping.

 Just wanted to let you know that the original lefse did arrive on Monday and after eating it(yummy) it was fine!  My sister-in law ordered some from somewhere [else] and invited me over so we could sample taste test hers cuz she didn't think it tasted right.  After trying yours she defintely said to  tell you that she will be a new customer to your lefse.  Also for Thanksgiving we will be entertaining folks from Nebraska, S. Carolina, and of course have turned some native Floridians over to the taste of lefse. I want to graciously thank you for the extra lefse that did arrive today( 2-day shipping) and please know you have made me continue to be a future customer and a few more will be coming your way.  Again, that you very much and have a Blessed Holiday.
