You can roll out perfect lefse and pie crust whenever you please with your new pastry board and cloth set. This is a kitchen must-have for the made-from-scratch cook. The pre-printed circles on the cloth even help you make just the right size pastry for your quiche, pie, or lefse.

Expert pie-makers (Grandma and Grandpa included!) keep the pastry cover lightly dusted with flour whenever they're rolling out their dough. Everyone likes to get their dough as thin as possible. This sturdy, non-slip board helps you get the thinnest pastry yet. After you try this, you'll wonder why you ever used just your countertop to roll dough!

Pastry Board & Cloth Set - Includes cloth and 19" hardboard circle with 6 non-skid legs. Use for Lefse, pie, pizza crust, etc. Made of heavy, pre-shrunk cotton.

PIE CRUST

1 pound lard or shortening (2 cups)
5 cups flour
3 tsp. salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vinegar
1 egg

Whisk the egg in a measuring cup. Add the vinegar. Fill the cup with cold water until it measures 1 cup of liquid (includes the egg and vinegar). In another bowl, work the lard into the dry ingredients until it resembles small peas. Add liquids to the dry ingredients. Roll out on a floured pastry board. Makes 8 single crusts. The crusts and dough may be frozen until needed.
