These waffles come straight from the heart! Your friends and family will love eating these sweetheart waffles for breakfast or any other meal, for that matter!

This electric waffle baker makes a large flower-shaped waffle that can be separated into five smaller heart-shaped waffles. Although this is a special Danish waffler, the other three Scandinavian countries also enjoy these special dessert waffles. .

Scandinavian Waffles for the Waffler

1 3/4 cups heavy cream
1 1/2 cups cake flour
1/2 cup ice water
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3-4 tablespoons melted butter

Beat the cream until stiff peaks form. Sift in the flour. Add water, sugar, and salt and beat slowly until blended. Pour in melted butter.

Brush the waffle iron with butter and pre-heat. Pour in batter by the spoonfuls and bake until golden brown. Serve immediately or keep warm in the oven on racks to keep them crisp. These are great served with fruit preserves, whipped cream, maple syrup, whipped cream, or any other sweet taste that you like.

Waffle Recipe

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
4 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups warm milk
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat waffle iron. In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder and sugar. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, and stir in the milk, butter and vanilla. Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture; mix until blended. Spoon the batter into a preheated waffle iron. Cook the waffles until golden and crisp. Serve warm and crispy with marionberry syrup. Serves 5.
